Sound for Video and Industry Course
This is an introductory 5-week course aimed at new starts and those already in junior-level roles in Production, Publishing, and Marketing. Over a 5-week period, one evening per week, you will gain insight to Post-Production practices and get hands-on experience as you add sound effects, voiceover and music to animation. You will work at the studio in small groups using Protools, and be provided with an animation and script. At the end of the 5-week period, you will finish with a professionally dubbed, edited and mixed piece of work. If you are interested in Post-Production, then this course is for you.
The course structure is as follows:
Week 1 – Sound Effects
Week 2 – Music for Animation
Week 3 – Voiceover
Week 4 – Track Lay & Editing
Week 5 – Final Mix
The course runs Monday evenings 20.00-22.00pm

Introduction to Music Production Course
This full day course (6 hours) will include an introduction to music production with three workshop taster sessions in:
DJ Skills – industry tips and practical DJ set up, beat matching skills and building a DJ set
Sound Engineering – industry tips and practical recording, mixing and mastering skills in Pro Tools
Music Production – practical introduction to electronic music production and Logic Pro
No specific entry requirements. An interest in technology and music would be beneficial.
Introduction To Audio Engineering
An introduction to sound engineering and how to record within a professional studio environment.
The course includes a 5 weekly sessions 2 hour sessions;
Week 1. Introduction to Pro Tools DAW – finding your way round Pro Tools.
Week 2. Introduction to Pro Tools DAW – short cuts and editing techniques.
Week 3. Pro Tools Introduction to recording – record your own track.
Week 4. Pro Tools Introduction to mixing – mix your own track.
Week 5. Pro Tools Introduction to mastering – learn how to master your own track.
The course will give candidates a basic introduction to audio engineering, working digital audio work stations and recording a basic track. The course will start September 24th – October 22nd 2018. Each class runs 6-8pm Monday evenings.
